Overview
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for providing support in the critical areas of Financial Planning and Enterprise Analytics for Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods, also referred to as “Vertical Business Lines” or “VBLs.” This role will focus on understanding the needs of the business and helping to develop the strategy and financial modeling aligned with its objectives, coordinating with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to create solutions, defining and providing performance goals and metrics, and creating/driving internal processes and systems to ensure appropriate due diligence is applied to business decisions.
About Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods
Both wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply™ is a distribution service provider focused entirely on serving the unique needs of Chick-fil-A restaurants, while Bay Center Foods™ is a manufacturing facility that primarily focuses on lemon juice production, among other innovations, to help alleviate complexity in the Restaurants. This position will provide multi-site, financial planning and analysis (FP&A) leadership for our growing network.
Due to steady, year-over-year sales and volume growth, combined with the complexity in our Restaurants, VBLs support current and future Restaurant needs through distribution innovation that extends the Chick-fil-A culture of care to those it serves, as well as those it employs.
The VBLs’ service network is comprised of three components:
- Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
- Manufacturing Plant – Facilities that manufacturing and produce select menu items for Chick-fil-A Restaurants
- Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants
Responsibilities
- Manage financial performance of the VBLs with a focus on stewardship and return on investment
- Own site P&Ls, and ensure integration into parent entity financials in partnership with Corporate Financial Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements for each location
- Partner with parent organization’s shared services team to deliver financial support for the entities
- Manage financial aspects of the business with a focus on financial sustainability of both the entity and the larger enterprise
- Conduct analyses in support of FP&A for multiple Chick-fil-A Supply distribution centers and Bay Center Foods manufacturing plant(s)
- Assist with enhancements and maintenance of the financial model for our multi-site network
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, variance analysis, and other supplemental reports
- Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance
- Coordinate financial control self-assessments and self-audits driving corrective actions as appropriate
- Develop and present financial analyses, reports, and presentations to senior leadership to support decision-making for new investments or initiatives
- Work cross-functionally across the organization to solicit feedback on upcoming projects, future budgetary needs, and variance analysis commentary
- Work with Corporate Financial Reporting team to maintain and update chart of accounts and expense mapping as business needs and reporting evolves
- Assist with the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes for multiple centers
- Identify key business trends through benchmarking, KPI tracking and analysis
- Partner with facility operations to provide analysis in support of major capital investments
- All other duties as may be assigned at leader’s discretion
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business-related field
- 4+ years of relevant business experience
- Excellent business communication and presentation skills
- FP&A experience in a multi-location organization
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with ERP systems and FP&A systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
