About the role
Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company’s first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse — an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter.
We are currently seeking a Senior Avionics Engineer with a specialization in Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS) to be a part of our team.
As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for the harness routing architecture within the aircraft as well the detailed design and test necessary for our extreme environments.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring personnel safety and product performance through strong communication skills within and outside of the engineering organization
- Run trades on EWIS technology applications for in-house and off the shelf solutions
- Creates review materials and provides technical feedback for interfacial and system development
- Building up workflows, processes, and associated documentation as systems scale and mature
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Master's degree in science, engineering, or other technical field with 3-5 years of experience in aviation, aerospace, or equivalent fields
- 3-5 years of experience with aerospace harness routing tools (2D and 3D CAD)
- Experience with various harness manufacturing methods and interfacing with off-the-shelf suppliers
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including requirement generation, technical presentations, and test planning/reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with instrumentation and associated sensitivities and calibration methods
- Experience with electromagnetic compatibility and associated mitigation
- Experience with MES, ERP, and PLM tools
