We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about database technologies, data collaboration, data visualization and scalable data and intelligence solutions. You have an innate desire to understand how technologies work and find ways to improve them. The Business Intelligence & Reporting team at Icario fosters a DevOps culture to provide technology services, infrastructure, processes, and tools. We place a strong emphasis on open source technologies, web-scale architectures, and Cloud-based services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. We work with technologies such as Redshift, Power BI, Fabric, Data Lake, ADF, Power Query, Dataflows, REST APIs, SQL, Postgres, MySQL, Talend, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ruby, Linux, Github, and Chef.

Why We Need You

  • Maintain reporting operations through automated workflows, monitoring, and reporting tools
  • Be a key consultant and contributor when assessing and evaluating future reporting solutions
  • Design, develop, and support reports and dashboards using reporting platforms and related tools
  • Ensure that reports are of the highest quality and delivered on-time
  • Work with Client Managers, Clients, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Owners to understand business requirements and specific analytics and reporting needs
  • Work within an Agile methodology to design, develop, test, and implement analytics and reporting features and functions
  • A keen eye for detail in data design and governance of data sources

What We'll Love About You

  • 6 or more years experience in a data-centric development role such as report development, business intelligence, or data warehouse operations
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining a data mart structure to enhance reporting capabilities
  • Exceptional SQL skills and ability to use Python, Java, DAX, M and other programming and scripting languages to develop, and support analytics and reporting needs through data design and sourcing
  • Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service experience/certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to design reports and dashboards, and understand the underlying data sources, tools, and processes needed to provide full service business intelligence and reporting operations
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (Redshift)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (Fabric, Data Lake, Synapse, ADF, DevOps, Git integration with Power BI)
  • Basic Linux skills and understanding of open source software
  • Experience with Agile development teams and SaaS platforms
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with all service stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Abide by and enhance security practices within Data Warehouse operations
