What do we do?

You will be part of a multinational back office team at Statkraft, which - operates at our locations in Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Oslo and Tirana. The Trade Controlling department supports the operational flow of Statkraft's various trading and generation activities. The main task of the team is to provide a complete and error-free trading database, which, among other things, forms the basis for reliable risk management and correct accounting. In addition, there is compliance with the legal requirements for transactions subject to reporting under EMIR and REMIT aspects. Trade Controlling monitors automated processes to a high degree, which ensure maximum efficiency and make adjustments to constantly changing challenges in the energy industry.

Job Description

In addition to handling day-to-day business, you will be involved in exciting projects as part of the trade controlling team in order to continuously develop our existing processes and integrate new products into our system landscape. Through the close cooperation with our colleagues from the energy trading department, you will gain in-depth insights into the energy market and energy trading in particular. In detail, the range of tasks of the Back Office Specialist includes the following activities:

• Timely testing and validation of energy trading transactions (OTC trading)
• Documentation of processes and creation of internal reports Comparison of the energy trading transactions made in our energy trading system (Murex)
• Comparison of the complex PPA trading transactions made in our energy trading system (beacon)
• Management of trade confirmations in our confirmation matching system (pontoon)
• Further development and automation of existing processes as well as the integration of new, trade-related products into the existing system landscape
• Customer communication (email, telephone) and maintenance of customer data
• Support for the implementation of new products and markets for OTC trades
• Support back office digitization with a focus on business process optimization and automation
• Expansion of existing relationships and communication with international stakeholders

Qualifications

• Completed studies, preferably with a focus on the energy industry, or comparable training with practical experience
• Minimum 3-4 years professional experience in a bank, energy trading company or back office for exchange traded products (financial or energy sector)
• Interest in database management and process optimization related to the energy industry is required
• Experience in the field of operational excellence is an advantage Independent and detailed way of working, even under time pressure
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills Very good MS Office skills, especially in Excel (advanced knowledge of VBA and macros)
• Enjoy working together and exchanging ideas in a team Experience in dealing with trading systems is an advantage
• Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
