About the RoleThe Staff Product Designer, Core Member Experience, will shape the Hinge Health app's future by crafting features that cater to each member's needs, helping them overcome pain and reach their goals. Collaborate closely with experienced product design leaders and cross-functional partners, employing user-centered design principles to create intuitive experiences. Own the design of the member experience throughout the product development process, from helping to define requirements and translating user research insights into actionable solutions, to interaction and UI design, prototyping, and visual design. Ideal candidates possess a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to transform complex systems design challenges into simple and elegant user experiences. Some key traits of a Product Designer working on our Core Member Experience experience include:
- User empathy: This designer is able to put themselves in the shoes of the user, understanding their needs, desires, and pain points in order to create engaging experiences that resonate with them
- Data-driven decision making: This designer is skilled in using data to inform their design decisions, from analyzing user behavior to running A/B tests to optimize the user experience
- Creativity: While data is important, this designer also has a strong creative streak, able to come up with innovative solutions to complex user experience challenges
- Collaboration: This designer needs to be a strong collaborator, working closely with data scientists, developers, and product managers to ensure that the user experience is seamless and effective
- Passion for quality: This designer must be an advocate for a quality user experience, from effective interaction design to delightful visual expression and high quality implementation
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Create innovative and creative design solutions that turn complexities into elegant, efficient user experiences
- Be a steward of great product design by ensuring solutions set high visual and interaction design quality standards
- Define product vision and strategy that creates emotionally engaging and easy to use experiences
- Lead the development and delivery of solutions that meet intended goals and create outcomes that positively impact key user and business metrics
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, care team members, and other designers to ensure designs drive desired UX, business, and technical outcomes
- Mentor and grow less experienced designers while evangelizing design practices and finding opportunities to elevate confidence in our work across the larger company
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of product design experience
- A portfolio demonstrating: shipment of multiple products successfully; strong expertise in applying interaction design patterns to solve complex workflows, as well as in visual design, information hierarchy, layout, composition, and typography
- Expert understanding of visual systems and practices, including layout, iconography, typography and have a curiosity and eye for pushing visual design in interfaces forward
