IT Concepts is seeking a Control M and Senior Linux Administrator who will support several projects at a federal agency. The position is located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Install and test software upgrades and patches as they become available from the vendors.
- Assist internal and external users with Control-M / EM and Agent installation and upgrades on remote workstations and servers, trouble-shooting with the user when necessary.
- Work with the vendor to identify problems and corresponding resolutions with the application.
- Enforce and monitor security compliance.
- Monitor server performance and maintain servers.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct CONTROL-M/EM infrastructure problems.
- Develop and implement scripts, utilities, and automated reports to support component CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems.
- Ability to analyze and build custom reports using CONTROL-M/EM
- Configure and monitor DASD.
- Configure and monitor the virtualization systems.
- Install, test, and back out plan and procedure for all software/hardware upgrades.
- Install, test, deploy, monitor, and provide support for various tools found within the distributed tool suite.
- Maintain, define, and document Linux, and Control-M/EM Permissions.
Key Duties:
- Support BMC Control-M scheduling software application running in the RedHat 7.3 virtual environment.
- Focus on Control-M security, user assistance, Control-M Reports, and analysis of the Control-M environment.
- Analyze and update RedHat Enterprise Linux deployments on SSA servers.
- Analyze and act upon Nagios alerts relevant to Control-M received on cellphones.
- PostgreSQL installation, database admin.
Requirements
Basic Qualification:
- Experience with Control-M / EM and Agent installation and upgradation
- Minimum 10 years of experience required with Bachelor’s degree
- Maintenance of the Linux Servers administration of the CONTROL-M / EM Distributed Tool Suite
- Scripting experience with tools such as: SHELL, Practical Extraction and Report Language (PERL), Structured Query Language (SQL), etc.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with PostgreSQL installation, and database admin.
- Experience with Windows server administration.
