Position Summary:
This position performs engineering work related to development, design, and integration of electrical components and software technology involved in Engine development. The position requires a strong technical background in electronic engine systems.
This position is located in Aiken, South Carolina.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design, development, integration and troubleshooting in control systems, cable harnesses, circuit diagrams, electronic engine systems, engine controls and protective devices
- Creation and execution of validation tests on engine systems, test benches or HIL systems
- Support engine/system test bench operation and troubleshooting
- Development and adaptation of harness designs using 2D and 3D design software
- Electrical schematic development and detailing
- Production line support for electrical and/or harness issues
- First point of contact for customer/field support topics involving electronics or harness systems
- PLM maintenance for electrical systems and compenents using Windchill
- Create and process measurement data recordings at the test bench or from the field
- Adaptation of data sets from engine management systems for the test bench or customer-specific requirements
- Collaboration and support of the VTB test benches in the USA, in particular support of the test infrastructure for the HIL systems
- Support of production and after sales for Electrical Engineering product issues
- Experience with LV and HV battery systems is desirable
- Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
- Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) plus 5 years of experience in Electrical or automation engineering, or 9 years of experience in Electrical or automation engineering.
- Experience with any of the following systems: Electrical design, harness manufacturing, automotive, power generation, engine calibration, engine design, manufacturing, automation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge about Diesel, Gas engines
- Hands-on Fabrication skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to read and interpret general procedures and speak fluent English
- Ability to read and interpret line diagrams, ladder diagrams, and point to point diagrams
- Preferred electrical software design skills: CREO Schematics, E-PLAN, E3, Programming of Control Logic Devices
- Computer Skills: MS Office, Vector CAN Tools
