BMA is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to join our team. This is a fully remote role.
Job Summary

Reports to the Project Manager.
-
Formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies and maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.

Provides top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis.

Designs architecture, including software, hardware, and communications, to support all requirements and to accommodate present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.

Ensures systems remain compatible with and compliant to open systems standards and DoD architecture.

Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting functional and technical requirements, including hardware and software updates or upgrades.

Interacts with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction.

Develops high-level system design diagrams and program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel.

Conducts quality assurance reviews and evaluates existing and new software products.

Provides overall operating system maintenance, including file maintenance routines, telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical or scientific software packages.

Supports all phases of software systems programming applications.

Evaluates new and existing software products.
Clearance Requirements
There is a Secret Security Clearance requirement for this role.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a relevant field.

Possesses one or more of the following certifications: Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security).

Brings over 10 years of experience in systems engineering and software development.

Possesses more than 5 years of experience working with DLA and/or DoD networks.

Has demonstrated expertise with MicroStrategy and other Business Intelligence platforms, including analytics, data modeling, and dashboard design.

Has implemented modern security solutions, including technologies such as Blockchain and related cryptographic methods.

Has worked extensively with UNIX and/or Linux environments.

Has utilized DevSecOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD in operational settings.

Has operated eDiscovery software to support legal, investigative, and compliance-related workflows.
-
Has applied advanced technical knowledge across all areas of applications programming, including system design, updates, firewalls, storage solutions, and data retrieval methods.
