As a Corporate Reporting Analyst, you will under limited supervision, assist and aid in the preparation of various monthly balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows analyses, quarterly reporting summaries, and special ad-hoc projects.

- Prepare analyses and summary of Income Statement line items (i.e. gross margin analysis, other income, interest expense, and non-controlling interest).
- Prepare monthly cash flow supporting schedules (i.e. analysis of changes in deferred credits, deferred charges, and stockholder’s equity).
- Complete analysis of balance sheet line items (i.e. Treasury Stock, Additional Paid in Capital, etc.).
- Prepare support for Earnings Release tables, supporting schedules, and various 10-Q and 10-K footnote disclosures.
- Prepare stand-alone financial statements for certain Valero subsidiaries.
- Assist in responding to the external auditor requests.
- Assist in facilitating the monthly account reconciliation software (OneStream).
- Prepare monthly business unit reports and operating income by business unit reports for management’s analyses.
- Understand generally accepted accounting principles, theories, and ability to apply them to the Corporation's accounting needs.
- Abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications.
- Read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation.
- Conduct basic research using accounting applications and other sources to perform accounting functions.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Accounting required.
- 3 years of Accounting, Public Accounting, and/or Auditing experience required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in refining industry preferred.
- Experience with SAP accounting software preferred.
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
