Job Description

The Team Lead, Wellness Del Webb reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Must have a passion for community wellness and serving the populations aged 55 and over.  Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Wellness Center. Operational duties include: Staffing and customer service responsibilities relationship building with Sun City  Team, Members of the Board and residents. Work closely with Sun City Administration Team, Wellness Committee, and the Medical Director to align wellness programs, to exceed the needs of Sun City Community Association, their residents and Northwestern Medicine.  
  • Participate as member of Sun City Wellness Committee and the liaison for Northwestern Medicine as well as liaison to Sun City Community Association. Coordinate with Wellness Manager to align Sun City wellness initiatives with Northwestern Medicine Community/Worksite Wellness Center strategic goals. Candidate must maintain equipment, provide marketing information, provide health resources and information, health risk assessments, and be strong in wellness program design for the geriatric population. 

Responsibilities:

Human Resources

  1. Facilitates day-to-day operations with high level of customer service. Manage front desk in the absence of staff. Serve as a Northwestern Medicine Wellness Champion.
  2. Schedule staff within established budget. Prepares the office monthly work schedule and ensures adequate staffing (FTE- full time equivalent) allocation.
  3. Assists Manager in writing and reviewing job descriptions and performance standards for wellness related staff.
  4. Develop and work with Associates to maintain a positive work environment for the day-to-day operations including office staff training, mentoring and performance management.

Financial

  1. Assists Manager with developing annual budget/ both operating and capital.
  2. Adhere to an annual budget; both operating and capital.
  3. Assists in developing annual goals and objectives.
  4. Purchase and inventory supplies.

Program Development

  1. Develop a quarterly and annual program plan in conjunction with associated committees, and wellness/fitness staff.
  2. Strong experience in public speaking and developing presentations on various wellness topics.
  3. Maintains Wellness Calendar of events. Secures facility rental. Coordinates the development, implementation, communication and evaluation of all wellness related programs, health fairs and events. May coordinate health system involvement and resources to address the needs of the Wellness Center and Sun City.
  4. Coordinate with Wellness Manager to maintain reporting for downstream revenue tracking.
  5. Liaison for referral pattern to Northwestern Medicine and Northwestern Medicine Physicians.
  6. Research of latest wellness trends related to the senior population.
  7. Maintain, coordinate wellness assessment schedule along with performing health assessment screenings with Worksite Wellness at employers.

Policy & Procedure

  1. Coordinate the development and adherence of policy and procedure as it relates to all wellness related programs, Immediate Care (IC) and personnel.
  2. Coordinate the development, implementation and adherence to an established emergency response and CPR guidelines.
  3. Assist Nurse Practitioner in minor duties if necessary. Could include taking documenting into EPIC (Electronic Medical Record system)  or asking chief complaint for visit.
  4. Acts in a lead capacity by supporting all departments relative to patient communication, flow and care.
  5. Responsible for addressing and resolving patient complaints in conjunction with the Nurse Practitioner.
  6. Assists with Managed Care Health pre-certification and claims review for Nurse Practitioner.
