About the role

SCHEDULE:Full-time; Monday through Friday (8:00 AM- 5:00 pm). Hours may vary due to training and schedules. Average 40 hours/week

LOCATION: 1009 2nd Street, Coralville, IA 52241


SUMMARY:

Primary role for this individual is to provide training both in the branch and classroom and facilitate skill development for those in customer facing roles in the retail department. This individual would also be expected to help develop new training material content and classes needed to train and mentor retail staff in working with all types of customer situations. This would include strategic evaluation of classes and training material content and making proactive training recommendations. This position will require close collaboration and frequent communication with the Regional Managers and Branch Managers in all locations. This position will work Monday-Friday in the branch and will require a need to travel to all Branch locations assisting new staff.


Accountabilities:

Training:

  • Works jointly with the Regional Managers and Branch Managers to facilitate in branch training for new tellers and bankers. This will require help in developing training material and content that will help them be effective in working with all types of customer situations. Designs and develops materials/checklists/guidelines that includes service standards, sales process, products and services, technical/systems usage, operational procedures, and compliance instruction.
  • Will work with the Regional Managers to schedule branch training and some classroom style training on more in depth subjects when it is needed.
  • Proactively work with branch supervisors to schedule in branch training sessions with new teller and banker hires.
  • Conduct one-on one training sessions in the branch environment, evaluating staff in an effort to assess their progress, and communicating with supervisors about performance. You will be assisting staff as they are helping customers to give them hands on experience in performing the sales and service process of a teller or banker along with working with them on their interpersonal skills in developing customer relationships.
  • Make on-site branch visits as needed after new employees have spent time on the job to continue the learning process, review progress, and retrain where necessary.
  • Revise materials to maintain accuracy as needed.

Other Duties:

  • Develop and maintain internal knowledge base content to support the retail department. Work with subject matter experts within the bank in a variety of departments to validate information and processes.
  • Proactively identify and work with Regional Managers to initiate and execute enhancements to programs and procedures.
  • Complete additional projects, operational, or administrative tasks/other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences, workshops, attending all relevant internal training.



EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college; and/or a minimum of 2-3 years banking experience (with customer service and sales experience) and/or 2-3 years of experience in training adult learners or teaching secondary education or higher.
  • Must be flexible, take initiative, project a high level of enthusiasm, make decisions, accept responsibility, have the ability to work independently, and able to accept feedback and consider the opinions of others.
  • This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.
