Job Description
The Head of the eSSC is responsible and accountable for the organization, strategic direction, and overall performance of the eSSC. Ensures sound clinical development principles are incorporated into the services provided by the eSSC. Ensures consistent, high quality and standard processes are complied with, and meet worldwide regulatory guidelines and company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Primary Activities include, but are not limited to:
Accountable for the development and execution of eSSC Strategy, Goals and Objectives; empowers, coaches and develops eSSC leadership/management to ensure all goals and objectives are met, including compliance with myLearning, Axonify and corporate training.
Line management of eSSC management team, includes setting priorities, development plans, routine feedback and coaching, mid year and year end formal discussions.
Ensure budget and resource management per plan
Foster a culture of learning and development and continuous improvement, including implementation of training programs (eg, Project Management, laboratory,…).
Collaborate with and manages relationships with stakeholders across the company related to current and potential future services of the eSSC.
Work across GCTO leadership for assignment of work, with appropriate upskilling and coordinated support to integrate functional expertise with ongoing functional support and oversight of eSSC team work
Coordination and quality delivery of all in scope deliverables for all services provided by the eSSC.
Develop system for efficient effective workload distribution with daily adaptations.
Partner with cross functional leaders as well as with internal and external stakeholders and partners to align cross functional strategy, operations and execution related to eSSC services provided.
Align with global/cross-functional leaders on strategic direction of assigned eSSC scope where applicable.
Accountable to and serve as extended leader for GCTO functions with eSSC services deployed
Increases functional effectiveness by supporting departmental efforts to simplify and standardize procedures to the greatest extent possible, sharing best practices and participating or leading in continuous improvement efforts.
Serve as POC during sponsor and site inspections related to services within the eSSC.
Accountable for ensuring connectivity with facilities, HR, IT, finance, etc. related to the eSSC Site.
Establish measures to improve effectiveness and efficiency of eSSC and develop strategic plans for growth.
Provide consultation and expertise on services provided by eSSC.
Evaluate and provide recommendations for future eSSC services.
Keep abreast of new developments in all areas of services provided and within the pharmaceutical industry.
Partner with community outreach organizations on talent development, wrap around services for current employees and forward-looking recruitment efforts. Lead and coordinate events designed to foster an inclusive culture with engaged and passionate employees, including community and volunteer events.
Accountable for all areas of operations for the eSSC.
May support strategic and/or tactical projects, as appropriate.
Education:
MBA or MS Degree with at least 10 years’ experience in people management and/or team leadership
OR
B.A. or B.S. degree with at least 12 Years’ experience in people management and/or team leadership
OR
Associate degree with 14 years’ experience in people management and/or team leadership
OR
High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 15+ years’ experience in people management and/or team leadership
Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience in Operations and/or Research related field
