Senior Climate Change Expert (On Call)

ICF is currently hiring for a Senior Climate Change Expert to help advance business development and support technical work broadly related to greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, climate mitigation, and climate impacts and adaptation.  

ICF is actively involved in supporting climate change efforts across the nation. This is an exciting role offering excellent opportunities within a high-functioning team, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and uniquely positioned organization.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Work with an interdisciplinary team of subject matter experts in GHG accounting, climate modeling, resilience and master planning, and sustainability/decarbonization

• Collaborate with ICF experts, clients, and other stakeholders to develop and execute a variety of climate change service offerings.

• Assist with Business Development activities that build upon offerings and grow revenue by winning new business, cross selling and building a strong pipeline.

• Contribute to technical approaches for competitive proposals that help drive revenue.

• Help the team achieve financial objectives.

• Through collaborations with the ICF Climate Center, help increase visibility in the marketplace and attract additional strong talent.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 25+ years of relevant experience including expertise in GHG accounting, climate mitigation, and climate impacts and adaptation.

• Demonstrated strategic advising for senior organizational leaders on issues related to climate risks and mitigation strategies.

• Outstanding reputation with a well-developed and current network of industry contacts

• Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-impact results.

• Master’s Degree required.

Professional Skills:

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including testimony, podcasts, and other presentations to senior audiences of decision makers.

• Must have strong interpersonal skills, business maturity, and sound judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$146,460.00 - $248,982.00
