Job Description

The Field Technical Manager is responsible for planning and front-line management of operational, technical and production support for Telemundo Enterprises programming throughout all steps of the production process. The Field Technical Manager collaborates with other departments within Telemundo to support the on-air operations of Telemundo Enterprises and provide first-in-class service to all clients for on air broadcasts.

Job Duties

• Manages the coordination, operation, documentation, logistics, and execution of remote live programming for Telemundo Enterprises
• Coordinates all technical and logistical requirements prior to air, on location and then post show to ensure that all technical aspects of the production go as planned
• Attends planning meetings as necessary ahead of production to determine resources and logistics required for successful execution
• Creates and oversees a budget for specific projects as well as invoicing
• Creates and oversees onsite technical crew both internal and external for specific projects with final approval of the Director, Field Operations
• Creates detailed technical books and specs to share with clients and other O&T departments
• Maintains external vendor relationships
• Serves as main point of contact for clients to resolve issues and execute changes to programming in a dynamic on-air environment
• Fosters relationship with other O&T teams to implement new technologies and to resolve on-air issues
• Owns coordination and planning between networks to ensure proper scheduling of live events and off-air execution
• Manages projects related to the execution or enhancement of News, Entertainment and Sports programs
• Ensures all client expectations are met or exceeded relating to on-air reliability
• Seeks operational improvement in partnership with Telemundo clients and other O&T departments
• Works under the direct supervision of the Director, Field Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned as needed

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a remote on-air broadcast environment, encompassing an overall understanding and knowledge of the television production process, broadcast operations, and news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements and field experience
• Exhibits working knowledge and experience with all aspects related to broadcast television including:
  • Remote broadcast transmission signal flow
  • Audio mixers and microphones
  • Professional camera setup and color matching
  • Remote to home base communications
  • Satellite uplink technology and procedures
  • Radio frequency microphones and transmitters
  • IP networking
• Minimum 3 years of experience in leading the execution of live television events
• Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Yammer, Stream, and Teams) and other related tools.
• Fluent English and Spanish (both written & verbal)
