In this role you will play a crucial role in developing, designing, and maintaining Tableau to support data driven decisions making while being an integral part of an agile team. 

We have an opportunity to impact your career and provide an adventure where you can push the limits of what's possible.  As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML and Data Platforms Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. In your role in the Business Intelligence area, you will create insightful recommendations by applying your data science, analytical and business skills to complex problems.

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand and meet their analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, design, and maintain an Intelligence platform to support data driven decision making through high-performance data visualizations, reports and dashboards which effectively communicate complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Collaborate with data engineers on architecture required to support visualization applications and ensure sustainable and timely data pipelines.
  • Support the availability and optimized performance of developed applications and visualizations.
  • Proactively identify and communicate dependencies, issues, risks and, or barriers to completing assignments, and escalate to appropriate project stakeholders and, or supervisors.
  • Contribute to and assist in defining best practices around dashboard development, testing, access management and refresh scheduling.
  • Ensure software standards are met and comply with the firm’s policies on governance and risk mitigation.
  • Recommend enhancements and modifications to optimize business intelligence processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of current and future directions of data visualization and dashboard design trends.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Expertise required in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and reports. 
  • Experience with reporting and data analytics. 
  • Proficient in best practices around visualization and storytelling with data.
  • Able to manage requirements gathering and client interactions.
  • Ability to understand and work with disparate data sources.
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Self-starter, team-player and will be expected to manage and complete their tasks in a fast-paced results driven environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BA/BS in computer science
  • Advanced SQL skills is a plus
