Trio Administrative Specialist III
Full-time, Grant-funded
The Administrative Specialist III is a grant-funded, frontline position dedicated to supporting students in the Trio/Study Center. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective operation of the Trio program by providing high-quality and exceptional customer service to all community members. Responsibilities include processing applications for enrollment in the Trio program, organizing and maintaining confidential student records and databases, and using various software programs to enhance student support services. The position also involves tracking data and generating utilization reports. In addition to administrative duties such as answering phone calls and emails, relaying messages, and scheduling appointments for students with service providers, the role includes direct involvement in tutoring services. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 10a.m. to 7p.m., and Friday from 8a.m. to 5p.m.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in education, business or a related field and three years’ experience in customer service, office management, experience in higher education and student support services. Strong computer skills, and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience with database management.
Salary Range: MSEA Unit, Range 12, $18.63 to $20.13, grant funded, MSEA Unit/salary commensurate with credentials and experience. Provided annually, 13 holidays, 15 vacation days (with longevity, this increases), and 12 sick days.
TRIO SSS is a federally funded retention, graduation, and transfer program that aims to support the learning needs of low-income students, first-generation students, and students with a documented disability. Preference will be given to applicants with a background similar to that of SSS participants. This grant program runs on a five-year grant cycle and is currently funded for the 2025-26 academic year. WCCC has successfully been awarded the TRIO SSS grant continuously since 2001.
