The LA County Board of Supervisors recently declared a local state of emergency for homelessness, and the County is working to revise and expand our response to help all who are affected. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing, mental health, and substance use. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) Office of Diversion and Reentry is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Health Program Analyst II vacancies.

Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.

During your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.

Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Health Program Analyst II.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Plans, implements, administers, and evaluates mental health and public health programs.

Examples of duties

  • Develops new programs and/or recommends modifications to existing programs based on needs analysis in accordance with local, State, and/or federal requirements.

  • Coordinates and facilitates collaborative efforts among public, private, and non-profit groups and organizations to meet the needs of the target population, and provides leadership, technical assistance, advocacy, and coalition building on behalf of targeted groups.

  • Coordinates and participates in meetings with departmental, public, private, and non-profit groups and organizations to discuss and influence policy issues impacting the assigned program.

  • Develops and implements community actions plans, and ensures progress toward policy passage and implementation.

  • Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of services and operations provided by program staff and/or administered by contracted agencies; develops stand
