Lightspeed is looking for a full time Quality Test Developer to join our Payments team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through continuous involvement in our Software processes. You will use your experience in test planning and execution in an agile environment, paired with strong technical, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Responsibilities 

• Work closely with the software development team to maintain high level of product quality
• Actively participate in software requirements definition, providing feedback, time estimates and identifying areas of risk
• Provide timely validation and visibility on the testing status of new features and functionality.
• Design, develop and maintain end-to-end automated integration tests.
• Perform regression tests for the Payments Platform v3.
• Develop & maintain inventory of test cases for the Payments v3 Platform.
• Develop performance testing practices for the Payments v3 Platform.
• Be an advocate for improving the testing tools and practices. For example, chaos testing/fault-injection testing, etc.
• Contribute to the ongoing efforts to refine and improve company's test methodologies, software development processes, and internal testing tools
• Recommend ideas to automate to reduce manual effort and increase the code coverage
• Be an advocate for quality throughout the development process

 

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software testing
• Good analytical and problem solving skills with a natural curiosity and attention to detail
• Experience with testing complex systems
• Experience with scripting languages - Python, Javascript
• Hands-on experience with scalability, performance and load testing of cloud-based systems
• Track record of showing excellent judgment in planning, issue escalation and release decisions
• Shown ability to focus on deliverables and meet scheduled deadlines
• Experience with test automation frameworks/tools such as Selenium/Playwright, Cucumber.
• Experience using Git
• Experience working with Docker containers
• Strong verbal & written communication skills

 

Nice to haves 

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with Java
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Elasticsearch/Opensearch
• Familiarity with Circle-CI, GitHub Actions
