The Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI) is a unit in the Office of the Vice-Provost for Academic Innovation (VPAI).  The CTI’s mission is to partner with the Cornell teaching community to explore and foster inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices. About the Opportunity

​​​The Instructional Media Producer is a member of the Multimedia Team within the CTI. This position will contribute to the overall production of high-quality multimedia projects which support Cornell’s teaching community. CTI is looking for a highly collaborative digital storyteller who is a skilled editor and media professional. This position reports directly to the Multimedia Manager and plays a vital role in the Multimedia Team. ​​

This position has the option for a hybrid work arrangement, working remotely up to 2 days/week. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.

This position does not support relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this position include all stages of video production: pre and post, as well as overall multi-media support for the CTI. The successful candidate will have a commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, wellbeing and the ability to produce accessible media for diverse audiences. 

In this role, the selected candidate can expect to:

  • Work as part of a team to support the creative process, coordinate with the project lead and collaborate across departments as needed to develop projects that align with established goals.
  • Serve as videographer and editor to produce professional-quality videos to support instruction and course work, including online courses and projects.
  • ​​Provide pre-production planning, in-studio and on location recording, and post-production editing.
  • Operate essential media equipment including cameras, lighting, and sound, to capture and produce high-quality video content.
  • Contribute to planning and research of CTI’s long-term multi-media needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with operating professional video and still cameras, including external monitors, teleprompters, lenses, stabilization gear, and audio equipment.
  • Working knowledge and experience working with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects.
  • Understanding of the post-production process, managing various formats, deliverables, and annotation platforms like Frame.IO.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the culture, structure, and mission of higher education.
  • Experience working in an academic environment and/or producing educational resources.
