Position Title: Americas Quality Control and Commissioning Lead
Location: Ashburn, VA
Your role The Americas Quality Control and Commissioning Lead will oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for the company's regional data center portfolio. This role ensures that the highest standards of construction quality are achieved consistently across all regions, supporting regional construction teams and embedding a culture of quality excellence. The role involves implementing the global QA/QC policies, procedures, and systems, driving compliance, and supporting project delivery to meet regional operational, client, and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the aggregating of quality control feedback from the key stakeholders and providing feedback loop into design standards. Serves as SME for Quality & Commissioning to regional teams. Ensures consistency across regions. Be the culture carrier when it comes to QA/QC and create synergies between contractors across the program. Establish a feedback loop with internal Operations team to improve handover standards, QA/QC and CX practices.
Responsible for setting the regional standards of the commissioning process through creation and implementation of a global quality control and commissioning program ensuring scalable and repeatable design and construction solutions with consultants, contractors and OEMs alike.
What you’ll do
- Regional QA/QC and Commissioning (CX) program management, adapting to regional market requirements while aligning with global standards
- Execute and maintain a global QA/QC strategy that supports the company’s vision and ensures consistent application across all projects
- Ensure high-quality handovers from DE&C to Operations through clearly defined and enforced standards
- Conduct regular quality audits, site inspections, and reviews to verify compliance and drive corrective actions where necessary
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and hands-on support to regional QA/CX teams to enhance capabilities and resolve complex issues
- Develop and implement standardized QA/QC inspection, testing, documentation, and reporting processes across the portfolio
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align quality expectations and ensure compliance throughout project delivery
- Capture and integrate lessons learned from design, construction, commissioning, and operations into standardized processes
- Establish and track quality and commissioning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), delivering performance reports to senior leadership
- Promote innovation by staying current with new QA/QC technologies and practices, integrating improvements into existing workflows
What you’ll need
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Control, with 7–10 years of progressive management experience, particularly within technically demanding environments such as data centers.
- Comprehensive understanding of commissioning fundamentals, including how to integrate commissioning into project schedules and execute Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Strong technical expertise across CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural), mechanical, electrical, and ICT systems, with a clear grasp of their interdependencies, particularly in relation to commissioning.
- Demonstrated involvement in the successful delivery of multiple large-scale, high-tech developments, preferably within owner-operator organizations.
- Proficiency in QA/QC best practices, construction methodologies, and international standards and codes such as ASHRAE and NFPA, with familiarity in building and energy regulations.
- A deep understanding of the full project lifecycle, from planning, design, and permitting through construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders, including clients and contractors.
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical challenges, develop pragmatic solutions, and manage project risk, while maintaining focus on critical details under pressure.
- Experience with change control and gating processes, and an appreciation for the impact of technically driven decisions within project controls frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in a CSA or MEPH engineering discipline, or equivalent experience; professional chartership and credentials like LEED AP are highly desirable, along with strong digital fluency.
