About the role
ABM is looking for a highly skilled BAS/DDC Controls Technician. This is a full-time field-based position. Using company provided laptop computer and software, expected to program, install, service, and maintain DDC Controllers and Niagara N4 Building Automation Systems (BAS) at our customers’ commercial building sites per company procedures and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Interfacing with commercial building customers and contractors in a professional manner.
- Programming and installation of N4 BAS & DDC Control systems.
- Performing periodic maintenance on customers’ controls systems (BAS front end, DDC controllers, end devices, etc.).
- Responding to customer service calls (emergency, on-site, and on-line remotely).
- Troubleshooting and repairing control systems and end devices.
- Backing up controller programs and BAS computers/servers.
- Using service maintenance software application to document services provided to customers and to receive repair and maintenance assignments.
- Performance testing and commissioning of controls systems on retrofit work as assigned.
Requirements – Candidates must meet all the requirements listed below:
- Niagara N4 Certified with minimum of 3 years N4 commissioning and integration experience.
- 3+ years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Commercial DDC & N4 BAS platforms.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with commercial HVAC systems, sequences of operation, controls concepts/applications and programming/troubleshooting/editing DDC controls programs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Computer user experience (Word, Excel, Graphics software, etc.), including performing computer backups and software updates.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs and work from ladders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
