Hybrid model of work: 3 days in office, 2 remote per week

Based within AstraZeneca’s BioPharmaceuticals R&D division, the Publications Operations team plays a crucial role in managing the enterprise-wide Publications Management System (iEnvision). The team oversees data management and reporting, delivers training to ensure procedural compliance, and coordinates the review and approval of scientific publications ahead of external dissemination. 

As a vital member of the team, the Team Manager will collaborate closely with the Publications Operations Leadership Team to oversee the day-to-day management of the Publication Sign-Off (PSO) process. This role ensures consistent and effective support to the business through guidance of the Publication Coordinators and serves as a central point of escalation for PSO issues. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and manage the internal Publication Sign-Off (PSO) process via the publication system in compliance with AstraZeneca Publication Policy and to required timelines. 

  • Line management of the Publication Coordinators, ensuring an even workload across the team, assisting with queries on policy or procedural ambiguities when processing requests and promoting best practice. 

  • Promote compliance with established AZ publication policy, standards and processes.  

  • Change Management; ensuring communication and implementation of process changes. i.e. as a result of system configuration. 

  • Internal stakeholder management, act as escalation point for senior stakeholders, provide good customer service, quick resolution to issues, provide training where required on all operational aspects. 

  • Contribute to the preparation of publication-related procedural documents including training and reference materials. 

  • Strong collaboration with Ops PLC members to ensure process alignment  

 

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 

  • Requires 2+ years of experience working autonomously in a demanding office environment; proficiency working with database systems, process and compliance 

  • Previous line management experience, ideally in global setting. 

  • High degree of skill in analysing and processing information, time management, organization and maintaining confidentiality. 

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively, to manage and prioritize multiple projects from conception to completion, working in a fast-paced environment
