About the role

GSK is seeking for talented and motivated individuals for the position of Associate Director, Clinical Data Flow Steward who will be responsible for oversight of clinical data flow across systems and functions. In this role you will have holistic oversight for data collection, data processing and transformation flow. Associate Director, CDFS will be our principal expert in the area of data flow. Will also guide Data Management and Data Acquisition team on best practices in designing of data flow strategies in a study execution.

Associate Director, Clinical Data Flow Steward

In this role you will…

own and maintain end-to-end clinical data flow, such as:

  • Research, understand and document current e2e clinical (patients data excluding metadata like recruitment, milestones, etc.) data flow (from data collection tools to SDTM) including process steps, handoffs between roles, and used tools

  • Maintain the e2e data flow reflecting any changes to roles, processes, or tools on ongoing basis

  • Ensure continuous improvement of the clinical data flow for GSK to be among leaders of industry leading solutions in clinical data collection, management and delivery.

  • Drive the e2e clinical data flow strategy in alignment with Business Partners from R&D Tech, Biostats and others. 

  • Ensure appropriate governance bodies (involving all relevant stakeholders) are created

  • Monitor and document deviations from standard solutions (process and/or systems)

  • Develop a roadmap and action plan for implementing the prioritized recommendations

  • Contribute to projects impacting data flow and design best ways of data provisioning for innovation projects

  • Provide consultancy on e2e data flow on standard and not standard solutions required for study execution

  • Challenge data solutions which are not aligned with GSK strategy at any level of organization

  • Influence GSK strategic roadmap on data processing solutions and approaches

Desired Qualifications:

  • Effective communication, engagement and influencing experience at department and on cross-departmental level

  • Proven competency of communication and influencing skills with key external experts and stakeholders (such as consultants, technical teams, therapeutic area experts and regulators)

  • Technical understanding of data workflows, data acquisition, transformation and data preparations for consumption layers

  • BA or Master’s degree in life sciences, mathematics, statistics, computer or data science

  • Very good verbal and written communication in English

  • Broad recognition for strong all- round technical competency in key areas of technology enabled or driven areas of clinical R&D

  • Ability to align all the parties involved to build alliances and influence across national and cultural boundaries

  • Experience in leading various operational meetings, and project management

  • Capability to integrate complex inter-departmental links, processes, databases and systems

  • Being task-oriented and building good team relationships
