About the role

Job Summary

The Treater is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of wood preserving equipment; ensures material is treated following the appropriate specifications; handles and disposes hazardous materials according to policy. Tests wood fiber and solutions to meet specific treating requirements.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transfer material into the treating cylinder loading and unloading from the pad.
  • Provides general preventive maintenance on treating equipment.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Prepares for the daily treating schedule.
  • Ensures rough material is ready and available for treating.
  • Follows treating protocol and instructions as described by Company policy.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • May assist others with moving material, loading and unloading material to and from the tram
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly Pay Range:  $20-$22 per hour dependent on experience*

                *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living 

Bonus/Incentive Pay:

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.  A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 months, preferred 6 months of experience in related areas
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Successfully complete State Licensing requirements
  • Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
