About the role

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Co-Op candidate to join our Medical Affairs team, supporting HCP Engagement Operations. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and Healthcare Professional (HCP) contracting, advisory board management, and external sponsorships—critical activities that help shape scientific dialogue and strategy.

You will be working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where priorities shift quickly and decisions are made in real time. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the operational processes that keep external scientific engagement running seamlessly, from drafting scopes of work to managing contracts through our Agiloft system. Along the way, you’ll build skills in compliance, stakeholder coordination, and project execution, all while collaborating with experienced leaders who will challenge you to learn and grow every day.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Develop an understanding of the Medical Affairs functions to deliver operational support across a wide range of therapeutic areas and projects.

  • End-to-end contracting operations for KOL and HCP engagements, including: completing Needs Assessment Forms to evaluate the needs for an external advise seeking activity, conducting Fair Market Value assessments to support compliant engagement, and managing HCP/KOL contracts across key markets.

  • Execution of external society and partner sponsorship agreements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Contracting, Legal, Compliance, and Medical Affairs to ensure timely and accurate execution of HCP engagements.

  • Learn operational application for GPT other AI tools in business and medical operations to improve quality and efficiency.

  • At Moderna, we are focused on delivering on our mission by enabling talent to thrive. For this role, we are currently unable to offer immigration sponsorship. Candidates must already hold work authorization in US and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in healthcare, life sciences, operations, or business management.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), and strong interpersonal and time-management skills.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Highly self motivated, with strong problem solving skills and ability to proactively address potential barriers and challenges.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Boldness to ask relevant questions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to support creative problem solving

  • An eagerness to work with all levels of management with key business stakeholders

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and a comfort with learning technical tools/systems relevant to the job function

At Moderna, we believe that when you feel your best, you can do your best work.  That’s why our US benefits and global well-being resources are designed to support you—at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

  • Free premium access to meditation and mindfulness classes
  • Subsidized commuter benefits
  • Generous paid time off, including:
    •    Vacation, sick time and holidays
    •    Volunteer time to participate within your community
    •    Discretionary year-end shutdown
