Resident Companion

White Horse Village (WHV), a prestigious retirement community located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking to add a Caregiver Support Person to their team! This position is flexible with full-time, part-time, and per diem positions opportunities available.

Duties:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLS), encouraging maximum independence:
• Dressing/undressing.
• Bathing/showering.
• Personal hygiene (shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, foot care).
• Mobility devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, crutches)
• Monitors safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Care of equipment such as eyeglasses, contact lenses and hearing aids.
• Incontinence care.
• Provide assistance with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLS):
• Telephone—assist with calls, hearing and vision adaptive devices
• Housekeeping tasks such as tidying room, dusting, bed making and ironing
• Laundry
• Coordinates transportation
• Shopping, errands, medical appointments, etc…
• Meal preparation
• Making appointments
• Provide reminders or cues to take medications.
• Assist with dining—obtain meals, assist with set-up and with meal consumption as needed.
• Assist with health maintenance and monitoring tasks:
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognitive and emotional status to supervisor or Outpatient Department as needed.
• Monitor for environmental safety hazards.
• Report to Program Coordinator or Director of Social Services as appropriate.

Requirements:

• At least one year of experience in similar role or responsibilities preferred
• Ability to manage time and prioritize
• Impeccable customer service skills
• Must posses a valid drivers license
• Flexibility in scheduling and availability is a requirement
• Certified Nursing Assistant a plus!
