GE Grid Solutions has the most advanced and comprehensive product and solutions portfolio within the energy sector.</p><p>Due to the growth of our HVDC business, we are offering the significant role as “Project Manager for Construction Activities/ HVDC/ Construction Manager” in the “Construction & Commissioning” function to participate in this energy transition for Central Europe. Join us and enjoy playing a major role to enhance the Central Europe Construction & Commissioning function with fresh ideas.<br/><br/>The Construction Manager shall be responsible for monitoring of all site-based construction activities of various projects under execution in GSI as per GE Quality, Construction & EHS Process and guidelines, provide critical construction cost related and other support to the bid management team for tenders in the region and will be fully responsible for coordination with customer representatives to ensure client compliance & satisfaction as per the contract.</p><p>The HVDC sites are in Germany as well as in Middle East for the platform construction.</p><p>The position holder reports to the Regional Construction Leader.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Mission description</u></b></p><p><b>In particular, the mission consists to:</b></p><ul><li><b>Tender Phase (ITO)</b><ul><li>Coordinate costing & scheduling of site activities, like costs for the electromechanical installation works</li><li>Lead the definition of contracting strategy ( sub-con / partner) and its development and application throughout ITO phases with support from EHS, Quality, Planning & Sourcing</li><li>Prepare tender documents related to construction & Installation activities</li><li>Initially prepare and arrange to take possession of the site infrastructure and develop and plan temporary and permanent site infrastructure</li><li>Actively participate to project teams from feed stages all the way through completion.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Execution Phase (OTR)</b><ul><li>Implementing, Monitoring, recording and reporting of the Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the project site as per GE EHS standards in collaboration with Site Construction Staff</li><li>Responsible for preparation of staffing plan, mobilization of site teams & follow up of actuals vs. plan.</li><li>Set goals and objectives for the site managers mobilized on his projects</li><li>Liaise with design office for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …)</li><li>Ensure Construction Operating Rhythm is deployed on all sites</li><li>Monitoring, recording and reporting of the contractor work progress along with Site construction teams</li><li>Coordinate with the Engineering teams and consortium partner for construction oriented designs</li><li>Coordinate Construction activities with the consortium partner (shipyard)</li><li>Publish progress reports and provide key inputs into Project monthly reports</li><li>Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning activities</li><li>Monitor key construction events, through sample inspection of these activities to check that the contractors are complying with the contract requirements and the contractors' project Quality Plan</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Network & Links</u></b></p><p>Internal: Project Management, EHS, Quality, Finance, Tendering, Procurement & Logistics, HR External: Local utility, Client, Contractors & Suppliers.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Candidate requirements</u></b></p><p>Skills / Qualifications</p><p>An appropriate qualification in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of work experience would be advantageou
