[What the role is]

At the Founders’ Memorial, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans together to reflect and talk about the heritage of our founding leaders – what it means for us today and for the future. A home for Singapore’s founding values to live on and find new life in its people.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to drive Partnerships and Engagement efforts leading up to the Memorial’s opening in 2028. You will join a passionate team that works across a wide network of partners and stakeholders from the public, private and people sectors. Be part of the making of this "living" Memorial that will connect and inspire Singaporeans for generations to come.

[What you will be working on]

  • Partnership Development - Develop and supervise the team to identify opportunities for meaningful partnerships with potential partners, local organisations, schools, and other stakeholders; cultivate and maintain strong relationships with network of community leaders, public and private sector partners, etc. 

  • Corporate and Community Engagement & Stewardship - Drive the development, implementation and effectiveness monitoring of corporate and community engagement strategies. 

  • Volunteer Engagement - Oversee the Memorial’s Volunteer Engagement, including to build steady pool of, and nurture strong relationships with volunteers to support the Founders’ Memorial's activities and initiatives. 

  • Programme Development & Management - Oversee the curation and organisation of creative and engaging partner-driven community programmes that facilitate meaningful interactions between diverse individuals across different communities in the lead-up to Founders’ Memorial’s opening, and for sustained operations of the Founders’ Memorial. 

  • Budget Management - Oversee the monitoring and tracking of budget utilisation of assigned programmes and prepare reports for proper accountability of funds and resources. 

  • Staff Development and Management - Develop and lead cross-function teams in the Memorial’s partnerships and community engagement efforts including building and strengthening team’s capabilities. 

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related fields 

  • Strong experience in partnership development, stakeholder/volunteer management, corporate and community engagement, event management, programming, or cultural outreach, preferably in a cultural or educational setting, with a demonstrated focus on interactions that cater to a diverse range of audience profile. 

  • Preferably at least 10 years of working experience 

  • Experience in supervising and managing a diverse team 

  • An interest in local history, particularly that of the pre- and post-Independence decades and/or experience with culture/heritage/arts sector-related work is preferred, although not mandatory 

  • Good command of the English language (written and verbal) 

  • Strong understanding of audience development and community engagement strategies, particularly in the context of fostering cross-cultural interactions 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
