JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Researches, develops, plans, designs, maintains and implements policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with the community, the public, government and regulatory authorities, shareholders and employees. Delivers communications through various media. Coordinates dissemination of the organization's communications with news or trade media contacts, through special events, public speaking or other means to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a champion of Entergy in a variety of different settings, both public and private.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements an external affairs strategy designed to successfully integrate Entergy into the community.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for government officials, business and community organizations/contacts.
  • Assists in the advancement of Entergy's public policy objectives, across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for press inquiries and public affairs issues.
  • Collaborates with the operations and marketing teams to extend the Entergy brand.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree required
    • Preferred: advanced degree

 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 7+ years
    • Preferred:
      • experience in/with public relations/communications
      • experience with Designing/Managing campaigns  


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector including utility/regulatory issues preferred.
  • Ability to take complicated technical concepts and translate to a general audience in a compelling, succinct manner.
  • Passion to be part of a team with goals to change the way the world's energy is produced and distributed.
  • Ability to think and act both strategically and creatively.
