About the role

Summary: The accounting clerk will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the Finance Department and help the company remain aware of its financial condition by providing support in the form of managing daily accounting tasks.

Type: Hourly, Full-timePay scale: $21.00-$24.00/hrTypical working conditions: Works in a non-smoking office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer. This position interacts with all employees throughout the company. Essential functions:

Reconcile cash reports with cash deposits.
Handle cash, check deposits and petty cash entries.
Manage bank activity with accounting system.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
Handles month end/year end closing processes.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
Assist in completing audits.
Follows all company policies and procedures.
Has knowledge of and adheres to finance laws and regulations.
Assist with other accounting projects as assigned.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Great with numbers and possesses an analytical acumen.
Works well independently.
Must maintain confidentiality of employee and company records.

Qualifications:

Experience as an accounting clerk preferred.
Experience in popular financial software preferred.
Hospitality experience preferred.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant field

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours at a time.
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds safely and properly.
Must be able to grasp, write, walk, perform repetitive motions, bend & climb (stairs).
