General Description of the Role

 

The Global Sensory Intern is a role within Global Liquid R&D dedicated to Sensory, reporting into the Global Sensory Coordinator and working closely with Quality and R&D teams.

Key activities for Global Sensory Intern are:

  • Conduct Sensory testing and data analysis on key projects and initiatives to support the organization.
  • Support in the testing of innovations, R&D studies, process changes, ingredient qualifications, plant production transfers, and other key projects.
  • Support in the training and calibration of existing panelists as well as the screening and testing of new panelists. 
  • Support in the maintenance of the sensory room, equipment, apparatus, materials, references, etc.
  • Support in global sensory initiatives and programs, including global panel management, training, proficiency testing, etc.
  • Support in product profiling and competitor analysis by preparing samples, administering tests, and analyzing data.

Competence/Skill Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write concise, informative reports and verbally present complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Planning and organizational skills for prioritization and time management
  • Good listening skills, analytical skills, good initiative and autonomy.
  • Good level of curiosity
  • Understanding of sensory science and principles.
  • Understanding of basic and multivariate statistics
  • Fluent in English and Italian languages; additional languages like Spanish, Portoguese, French, Greek are surely a plus

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Enrolled at College/University in a relevant Scientific discipline (i.e. Sensory, Chemistry, Food Science, Viticulture and Oenological Science, etc)
  • Full knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Teams/SharePoint
  • “Food Sensory Analysis” exams passed or equivalent
