Are you passionate about supporting elders in our community? SCIHP is looking for a dedicated and caring Kitchen Aide/Senior Site Transporter to join our Senior Nutrition Program. Under the guidance of the Title VI Manager, you’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our elders, ensuring they feel valued and cared for. You’ll also help keep our site clean and welcoming, and provide safe, friendly transportation for our elders using a SCIHP vehicle.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must possess a current California Food Handler Card or acquire within first month of employment.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with all applicable State and County regulations regarding food storage, food preparation. Maintain sanitary, organized conditions in all food preparation, food serving, and food storage areas.
- Assists with preparing and packaging meals. Assists with the serving of lunch.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. Must provide DMV printout.
- Clean DMV record for the purpose of being insurable by the agency’s insurance carrier.
- Ability to operate a vehicle and assists others into and out of a vehicle.
- Transports elders to and from Senior Nutrition Center at appropriate times. Consistently records destinations and mileage.
- Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Must be able to observe policies, rules, and client confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain inventory and organize supplies, assess what is needed, then order and restock.
- Must be CPR certified or attend a SCIHP CPR training to become certified.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
- MUST have proof of completed COVID vaccines plus booster and annual flu vaccine.
Special Qualifications: All employees must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American community, demonstrate a deep understanding and respect for the diverse cultural heritage, traditions, and historical context of the Native American community.
