Position Summary:
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Materials Management Duties to include but not limited to: ordering, charging, managing stock levels and location, and maintaining ORSOS/PMM database. Serves as the liaison between materials and it’s customers. Understands correlation between charging and materials expense. Acts as initial contact for sales reps and the clinical staff. Understands how supplies are utilized and assists in proper use and control of supplies.

Responsibilities
- Arranges, orders, issues and charges direct supplies utilized.
- Establishes inventory levels, obtains necessary direct items/supplies.
- Maintains ORSOS/ PMM (Horizon) database as relates to direct item supplies for Surgical Services.
- Participates and acts as a resource to Operations Leader in materials budget process.
- Conducts direct item inventory yearly and cycle counts as needed.
- Liaison between Materials Management and Departments, sales reps, physicians and other staff as relates to direct items. Researches products and equipment.
- Maintains knowledge base of supply utilization and seeks knowledge of new supplies. Ensures outdated and obsolete items removed from inventory and actively identifies consignment opportunities.
- Provides information or serves on the Standardization & Utilization Committee.
- Coordinates procurement of equipment and processing repairs of instrumentation.
- May provide supervisory support to subspecialties within the department.
- Remains mentally alert and maintains concentration with attention to detail for prolonged periods, at times under stress. Maintains adaptability, flexibility, initiative, persistence, and efficiency of time management and action.
- Does not pose a direct threat to health or safety of self or others. Provides safe, efficient, competent care to population assigned. Meets MMC Environment of Care Standards.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience:
Experience in a clinical or materials management environment required.
