We’re seeking a Robot Laboratory Manager to join our NYC-based team, and help us scale our growing fleet of laboratory systems. - Early in your career (1–5 years experience), highly productive, organized, and self-sufficient
- You have hands-on technical skills in assembly and debugging complex electromechanical + computer systems from prior experiences
- Excited about VR and robot teleoperation, you likely have spent a lot of time in VR and/or gaming in the past
- Strong communicator who can work effectively to manage lab access and priorities which will be in high demand
- Hungry for impact and growth
What You’ll Do
- Own the day-to-day operations of our growing Robotics Lab:Work with our engineering team to execute data collection projects
- Manage the schedule of projects and ensure on-time completion
- Coordinate work with our remote teleoperation team who pilot the robots to collect data
- Keep the lab clean and organized, setting up for and transitioning between projects
- Pilot our robots: become our expert robot pilot through rigorous practice. You’ll become the best person at the company at driving the robots in VR to test new capabilities.
- Build and maintain systems: assemble, repair, and upgrade hardware in the lab
- Contribute to design: Help build our next-generation capabilities, from working with engineering to test new prototypes
Bonus Skills
- Familiar and comfortable with VR headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and video games that focus on performance (our best tele-operators are avid gamers)
- Experience building and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and computer systems
- Experience with prototyping, 3D design, 3D printing
- Experience working in a corporate environment and familiarity with common tools (Excel, powerpoint, Slack, etc)
