Sr. Technical Program Manager

The Engineering Operations’ team’s mission is to accelerate the outcomes of Omnicell’s Application & Cloud Engineering organization by driving programs and uniting cross-functional teams.  We are looking for a best-in-class Senior Technical Program Manager (STPM) who will manage complex programs through the development and/or operational processes at Omnicell. This position requires a solid understanding of program requirements as well as the technologies used in the program. Scope of responsibilities range from focused projects to multi-dimensional programs involving multiple disciplines and cross-functions. 

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives, drive consensus on the technical approach, set timelines, and lead cross-functional development teams from design through delivery
• Coordinate between various groups at Omnicell, including engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, quality, procurement, finance etc.
• Anticipate needs and proactively identify aspects of the project that may be going off track, develop a recovery plan, and communicate the plan to all stakeholders
• Ensure outstanding communication across teams; manage actionable information up to the executive level in Engineering
• Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives
• Review deliverables against requirements defined by product management

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Strong technical Project Manager skills
• Excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including executive level.
• Demonstrated success at public speaking and detailed report writing.
• Team Player and Self Starter; Drives teams and self to meet commitments in order to achieve success.; Accountable for results. 
• Adept at creating effective presentations, visuals and outputs.  
• Possesses strong business acumen
• Experience in budget tracking
• Track record in creating technical specifications by analyzing requirements and digesting product management needs
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and can digest complex problem. Experience in articulating possible paths forward with pro(s) and con(s)
• Deep background with Agile Iterative development process
• Very familiar with Operational process (Procurement, Proof of Concept to a ready to scale offering)

 

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, finance or business.
• 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience
• 10+ years in project / program / development / product management
• Strong background in Agile development process

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters preferred.
• Project Management certification or certificate (PMP, PgMP, CPM, DAU, etc.)

 

Work Conditions

• Office Environment
• Up to 20% travel

Intake notes:  Must be able to work India timezone.

Travel to Milpitas, CA as needed and then Hybrid as needed.

• Systems based vs HW or SW only
• If Systems is tough to find, then 60:40 in favor of HW experience
• Will be required to travel to Milpitas when needed for HW development deliverables, CA desirable, Bay area even better
• SW developed in India, so time zone management will be essential
• This TPM or Sr. TPM will be required to balance those time zones, consolidate the schedules and be part of a CA based core team of cross-functional members where they will represent Eng development as a whole
