General Responsibilities:

Under general direction of the department manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to manage the integrity, continuity, and usability of the US based process assets.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position includes, but is not limited to:

  • Directly communicate and interface with Global Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) staff for issues regarding the process assets shared globally.
  • Evaluate new SEPG Tickets to determine ownership responsibility
  • Investigate root cause of Tickets assigned
  • Update work products as directed in assigned Work Packages
  • Submit updated work products for review
  • Provide process improvement support to SEPG Process Owners and Sponsors as assigned by the SEPG Manager
  • Provide back-up leadership when the SEPG Manager is not available
  • Review all Stages/USSE process changes to ensure that the changes will not degrade the system integrity, continuity and usability.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the teams of assigned software development projects.
  • Conduct A-SPICE gap analysis activities for projects as assigned
  • Knowledge on static code analysis, industry standards software development process such as AUTOSPICE, CMMI, AGILE/SAFe

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be proficient in software programming languages such as assembly, C or other high level languages.
  • Be familiar with automotive component and vehicle test procedures, including environmental and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Be very knowledgeable of automotive development process.
  • Have a minimum of 12 years applicable experience in automotive environment.
  • Have experience with electronic control systems.
  • Have experience with design specifications and detailed software documentation.
  • Have experience with software validation test procedures.
  • Have experience coordinating and facilitating several small projects or one major project.
  • Experience interfacing with customers.
  • Strong written communication.
  • Experienced presenting complex topics to a variety of experienced users.
  • Must be able to travel for to Europe, US and Japan.
  • Have experience using Stages (from Method Park) tool, preferably as a Process Modeler

Education:  Bachelor or Master’s degree in in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Experience:  Minimum of 10+ years applicable experience in automotive

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  leading and mentoring the efforts of engineers who are responsible for sub-project activities. 

Working conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
