Job Description
The ideal Area Human Resources Business Partner is an influential communicator, critical thinker, and effective business partner. This role will support Nordstrom Rack Wesit stores in Washington and Alaska.
A day in the life…
Ensure the store hits its workforce planning goals by establishing a strong liaison and clear processes between the on-site recruiter, HV Recruiter, and stores
Partner with the store manager and department managers to successfully build strong selling teams that support our focus of Best Service, Best Team, and Make the Day
Be a continuous strategic business planner, influencer, and truth teller with your direct business partners (store managers, regionals, district managers, etc.)
Support the messaging and priorities of your direct business partners while providing feedback and gaining trust
Balance the needs of the territory while maintaining HR competencies and priorities daily
Being the liaison and executer of corporate HR messaging and initiatives for the territory
Support the store managers in developing department managers' coaching skills to continue to build manager effectiveness
Support the business to foster an environment of belonging where diverse individuals can show up as their authentic selves
Support the store's compliance with all employment laws
Champion a productive and positive work environment that distinguishes us as the employer of choice
You own this if you have…
3+ years of directly applicable HR experience partnering with business leaders to drive strategic and effective people outcomes.
Experience in the management and resolution of employee issues through consultation and investigation
Strong business and HR acumen with ability to influence at all organizational levels
Experience consulting effectively with cross-functional business teams and leaders
Demonstrated ability to execute Nordstrom Leadership competencies
Demonstrated ability to organize work and manage competing priorities effectively
Ability to manage small to medium sized projects of moderate complexity effectively
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to travel 25% of the time
Ability to work onsite at assigned Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack stores five (5) days per week
Location:
The selected candidate to be located within a commutable distance of Factoria Square Rack or Downtown Seattle Rack and work onsite five (5) days per week.
