Orlando Branch - Warehouse Associate 2

Warehouse Associate 2 contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing labor support to the Branch Office. Warehouse Associate 2 performs various operations, including unloading, picking, packing, counting, and checking items to maintain inventory. Warehouse Associate 2 has demonstrated functional expertise in product stocking and replenishment and operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other handling equipment according to safety policies and procedures. May view or input information into the warehouse management system or Oracle System transaction, or any other database. In addition, the incumbent will have additional duties as a backup driver to deliver Wismettac products to customers as needed.
• Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stages finished product for loading.
• Check purchase orders/ work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
• Check items to ensure that the correct number of products are being assembled.
• Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
• Load the finished product onto the truck.
• Unload products from trucks, containers, and stock them in the designated area.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out, and no damaged products will be stored.
• Operate the pallet jack within standard operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on palette jacks.
• Perform on-the-job training for new employees.
• Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations.
• Prepare customers’ orders for delivery.
• Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse.
• Responsible for driving delivery trucks (with a weight less than or equal to 10,000 pounds) efficiently and safely.
• Deliver the company’s products over established routes or within an established territory.
• Load or unload the merchandise at the customer’s place of business. Be able to load and unload items weighing 50 pounds.
• Safely operate company vehicles by applying knowledge and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas.
• Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections on equipment. Ensure equipment defects are reported immediately.
• Keep tractor interior clean and orderly.
• Promptly report all accidents involving driver or company equipment and any delays due to customers, breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions, other emergencies, or any irregularities relating to pick up or delivery of freight.
• Submit all paperwork and documents required by Federal D.O.T. and Wismettac on time.
• Perform and follow all Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 111 (Code of Federal Regulations 21 CFR Parts 1 and 11) and Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food guidelines set by Logistics Headquarters.
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience/ Training/ Education
• 2 to 5 years of experience as an order picker or other warehouse position
• High School Degree or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
• Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment.
• The incumbent should be able to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order;
• Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion, so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Physically strong, agile, dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
• Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
• Available to work extended hours.
Working Conditions:
Some Warehouse Associates will spend time in the warehouse's refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section. Machinery operation requires using safety equipment, including but not limited to steel-toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
