Response Ops at Elastic

Response Ops for the Elastic Stack allows users to better understand the behavior of their data and act upon it. We have developed a wide range of customizable rules that can plow through large amounts of data, and automatically alert users when specific conditions are detected. Leveraging our high throughput ingestion, querying, and machine learning offerings, we allow users to detect, and alert on, security-related events and operational metrics, create cases to investigate those issues, and take actions to resolve them.

About The Role

You will be a hands-on developer within the Response Ops team, which is responsible for the end-to-end alerting platform provided by the Elastic Stack. Working closely with our Security and Observability solutions engineers, you will help us build a world-class platform for authoring rules, prioritizing, investigating, and collaborating, providing a rich set of integrations into 3rd party notification and incident management systems, and the ability to handle sophisticated automated and manual responses workflows.

What you will be doing

  • Innovate, lead, and contribute to developing a unified Response Ops experience across Elastic using TypeScript
  • Implement and contribute to the design of compelling reusable UI components, enabling users both to gain insight into their data and easily set up, configure and manage potentially hundreds of rules and thousands of alerts.
  • Help to deliver the roadmap of the team, mitigating technical debt, and providing support to other engineering teams across Elastic as they build on our platform
  • Write comprehensive tests, including unit tests, browser-level integration tests, and end-to-end functional tests that provide confidence in the stability and function of the Elastic stack
  • Collaborate with other experienced engineers, designers, and other collaborators both in Elastic and our open-source community, as we work together to build the best UX for our users in the response ops space
