The Physical Security Systems Department (PSS) is seeking a high-level performer to join our team as a Project Manager II to lead to coordinate physical security systems (PSS) projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, project oversight, and system commissioning. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with applicable standards. This project manager reports directly to the Physical Security Systems Engineering department while supporting other PSS functions, including the Electronic Safety Section (ESS) and the System Administration team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Physical Security Systems small sized projects <$5M throughout their lifecycles (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing).
- Serve as the primary point of contact between all disciplines (i.e., PSS engineering, PSS technicians (ESS/Craft), vendors, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and end users).
- Coordinate design reviews, walkdowns, and stakeholder approvals.
- Lead and facilitate weekly operations meetings with PSS department to review.
- Ensure clear communication of project status, changes and impacts.
- Track project progress against schedule and budget.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership and stakeholders on projects.
- Project planning, estimating, schedule development, and work authorization.
- Coordinate work planning through interaction with program managers, project managers, and project teams across the enterprise to promote effective project initiation and planning, risk management, project execution, and the development of lessons learned.
- Meet with process owner and team members to ensure all requirements are met. Actively participate and facilitate definition of requirements with the organizational representative(s).
- Collect, assemble, analyze, and document business requirements to meet the needs of the organization.
- Assist in the preparation of execution plans and required project approvals.
- Review cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Adapt to the specific needs and objectives of the sponsor to ensure project success and a positive experience while managing and providing realistic expectations.
- Work with leadership to manage and mitigate problem areas as early as possible to ensure minimizing impacting consequences to the project.
- Promote project management best practices by applying the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities that promote project success and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience and 2 years of related professional experience.
- Previous project management experience and responsibilities should include:
- Managing small projects (<$5M TPC) and project teams (<10 people) through representation project lifecycle phases; defining, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and successfully completing discrete elements of scope in compliance with defined schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints; with project requirements in development of products and deliverables.
