POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides control of nonconforming material support to the Supplier Quality Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Quality Departments. Ensures accurate and timely capture, compilation and reporting of nonconforming material (NCM) data. Interfaces with Purchasing and Engineering to coordinate and expedite material in area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates all aspects of MRB (Material Review Board) nonconforming material processing. Reviews Discrepant Material Reports (DMR’s) to ensure complete and accurate NCM information is captured in SAP.
- Ensures the control of all material in MRB quarantined locations; helps to ensure the controlled access of material in these locations, and the segregation of discrepant material from conforming material.
- Assists Component Engineers, SQE’s and logistics personnel with material dispositions, SAP material location transfers, and physical movement of material as required.
- Process and supply information as needed for Purges. Inspect per ECO process.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a standard office and/or electromechanical product manufacturing environment.
- Work may require lifting and moving material up to 20 pounds in weight.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough understanding of ISO 9000-compliant processes for the control of nonconforming material. Certified to IPC 7711/7721 (rework and repair)
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic to advanced ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets and component specifications.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Ability to perform increasingly complex tasks associated with NCM control and data reporting.
- Basic to advanced knowledge and skill of Lean Manufacturing.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years of related quality inspection, NCM processing and/or supplier quality support experience.
- Two or more years’ experience creating process performance reports utilizing Excel spreadsheet capabilities (data sorting, filters, pivot tables) and/or other business data processing/report generation tools preferred
- Two or more years’ experience working with SAP preferred
EDUCATION:
- High school graduate
- AAS degree in technical or database administration discipline, or equiv
