Responsibilities

The Director is responsible for the administration of all aspects of their Department including the design and implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with OASAS regulatory and JCAHO standards.

Develops long-term plans for the program incorporating the philosophy of the agency with concrete objectives on a programmatic level.

 

Maintains a solid understanding of clinical issues and develops targeted plans that will maximize the effectiveness of the program. Maintains awareness of resources available in the agency to support and actualize targeted plans, both programmatically and concerning staff development. Ensures scheduling that promotes an organized approach to program operations. Clearly conveys agency policies, OASAS regulations, and instructions to all staff. Orchestrates the overall operation of the program keeping abreast of its progress and effectively intervening to prevent unnecessary difficulties from arising. Offers appropriate staff support and education when delegating to better ensure optimal results. Responsible for the routine program and new program costs. Has the ability to remain within budgetary limitations. Maintains awareness of the current trends in reimbursement such as managed care, Medicaid and Medicare. Conducts through investigations and analyzes problem situations as the need arises. Participates in or leads Performance Improvement Activities.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in applicable human services field preferred. Qualified health professional; New York State Credential Alcoholism Counselor, Registered Nurse or Certified Social Worker, etc. is required. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an alcohol and/or substance abuse program is required. Methadone program experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
