Software Developer - Senior

Job Title: Senior Software Developer, Applications (VA) 

Client: FWS Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS) 

Clearance: Public Trust or Clearable

Citizenship: US or Green Card / Permanent Resident – must pass a Background Investigation 

Education (If required): BS - Computer and Information Systems or 5+ years of experience in equivalent field.  

You are required to work at least 2-3 days per week in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s office and may work 2-3 days per week from home. 

There are office locations at:

• Fort Collins, CO or 
  
• Falls Church, VA

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the benefit of the American people.

The Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS) is an important component of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s mission. ECOS provides scientists and citizens data regarding threatened and endangered species and conservation of wildlife habitats for approximately 50,000 users. It facilitates the collaborative administration of a network of national lands and waters for the conservation, management, and restoration of fish, wildlife, and plant resources and their habitats within the United States.

Inalab Consulting is looking for a senior software developer with a passion for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s mission.

As a full stack software developer, you will work on a team of Inalab and government personnel to enhance and maintain ECOS. You will:

• Work on a wide variety of systems and web applications that make up ECOS using multiple technologies, requiring on-the-job training and learning.
• Be responsible for the full software development lifecycle—design, development, testing, and operating in production—for ECOS.
• Work closely with government personnel to clarify requirements and deliver value to the American people.

Qualifications: 

• Must have database knowledge (Postgres/SQL Server)
• Must have previously worked with CI/CD pipelines.
• Should have experience in Java, C#, and/or another object-oriented language.
• Should have experience in a backend framework such as ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot, etc.
• Should have experience with creating interactive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Should be comfortable with learning new languages and technologies on-the-job.
• Experience with a cloud service provider such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
