About the Product Department

The Senior Director of Assay Product is a leadership role within the Guardant Health Oncology Product Department, which is responsible for product portfolio strategy and lifecycle management of all products in the oncology division. The Department comprises two functional areas: assay product, comprising liquid and tissue therapy selection and disease monitoring assets, and digital product, comprising both external-facing digital products, data, and internal infrastructure.

About the Role

The Senior Director of Assay Product is the wholly responsible for the oncology assay product portfolio strategy and plan; conception, planning, and business fit of assay products within that plan; and full lifecycle management of assay products through to end-of-life. In pursuit of the above, the Senior Director of Assay Product will lead the individual assay product leads (Guardant360, Guardatn360 Tissue, and Guardant Reveal) as well as the assay product support team. The role will also be a key individual contributor supporting the above as well as directly responsible for portfolio-wide initiatives shared across assay products. This position ensures the integrity, market fit, and business success of the long-term Guardant oncology product vision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business performance
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive assay product roadmap that aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
    • Manage the individual assay product leads to deliver on their part in the same.
    • Individually deliver on portfolio-wide initiatives in support of the same.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch best-in-class assay products that meet the needs of patients, customers, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities and incorporate them into product development plans.
  • Leadership
    • Develop and grow talent within the product organization such that individual team members consistently and demonstrably improve, year on year.
    • Champion excellence and innovation – develop and refine practices within the product organization such that our collective performance consistently and demonstrably improves, year on year.

Qualifications

  • PhD, MBA, or equivalent degree or experience.
  • Working knowledge of the molecular diagnostics industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in product development or adjacent function.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in oncology diagnostics and/or drug development.
  • Experience in product development.
  • Experience in clinical oncology practice and/or oncology drug development.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $255,600 to $345,060. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
