POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Financial Management bureau, reporting to the Accounts Payable section. This is a full-time position that works closely with FDLE’s financial information and is responsible for ensuring the data is accurate, protected and in compliance with accounting standards. This position requires excellent customer service skills as it will require interacting with internal and external customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Serving as the FDLE system administrator for the Pcard Works System and the Statewide Management Travel System (STMS);
- Coordinating the operations and maintenance of the OFA Document Imaging System;
- Processing complex vendor payments; and
- Auditing invoices and record payments in FLAIR (Florida Accounting Information Resource) ensuring payments are in compliance with Florida Statue 215.44 and all policies/rules/guidelines as applicable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices;
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program; and
- Ability to use computer software skills, including intermediate skills in database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word.
