Description
The University of Montana, School of Speech, Language, Hearing and Occupational Sciences, invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program to begin July 2026.
The Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program (OTD) has been designed to meet accreditation standards established by ACOTE and accepted the first cohort of students in the fall of 2025. The OTD Program is part of University of Montana’s College of Health that houses the School of Speech, Language, Hearing and Occupational Sciences (SLHOS).
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the continued development of all OTD program elements including the accreditation requirements, goals, curriculum, learning outcomes, policies & procedures, equipment/instructional resources acquisition and strategic plan for the program in alignment with School of Speech, Language, Hearing and Occupational Sciences (SLHOS)
- Teaching and service expectations commiserate with subject matter expertise and school standards
- Contribute to the accreditation process and uphold accreditation standards in courses taught and service roles
- Collaborate with and mentor/advise students as appropriate and pertaining to teaching
- Assist with recruitment and admissions processes
- Develop &/or further a scholarly agenda and pursue personal professional development
- Support interprofessional education activities and opportunities on campus and in our community
- Participate in university, state, regional and national organizations through membership, committee service and other scholarly endeavors
- Promote the mission and vision of the University, College of Health, School of Speech, Language, Hearing and Occupational Sciences, and Occupational Therapy program

Title: Clinical Assistant Professor
Schedule: Full time, fiscal year position (12 months)
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000

Primary Duties: Primary duties include teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include a combination of required, elective, and clinical courses.
Qualifications
- Entry level occupational therapy doctoral or master’s degree
- A minimum of three (3) years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy including clinical practice as an occupational therapist
