Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division is seeking a Staff System Test Engineer to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be part of our Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Integration and Test (I&T) team to plan and execute vehicle level integration, test and checkout activities supporting the Sentinel, formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), program. This position will be located in Vandenberg AFB, CA.What You’ll Get to Do:
- Synthesize system and test requirements into verification requirements, test objectives, success criteria, and required resources for system level tests and demonstrations.
- Support the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), test data and test reports.
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
- Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of integration and test activities.
- Review test plans, procedures, and reports; witness testing as the Cognizant Engineer.
- Execution of qualification and acceptance testing per those requirements, plans and procedures.
- Execute the integration, test, and assembly of the Air Vehicle in preparation for developmental flight testing.
- Integrate hardware from sub-system teams.
- Participate in internal and customer test planning working groups.
- Support program reviews and customer delivery (CDRL) development
- Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, testing houses, development engineers and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.
- Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.
- Execute tests, manage and prioritize problems/failures.
- Review and evaluate test results and provide summary reports.
- Work with cross functional, multi-discipline test and element, system, and segment-level teams.
- Identify configurations to support test and prototypes of developing systems.
- Perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data.
- Document test results and prepare test status documentation.
- Create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents.
- Maintain test equipment documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
- Participate in test facility stand-up activities, including operations and process development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience with Developmental Test (DT) programs.
- Working knowledge of system integration (HW and SW) and test principles.
- Experience developing and executing integrated hardware and software testing.
- Experience defining test objectives based on test requirements, VCRM and interface and specification documentation.
- Experience with data collection/instrumentation (methods, setup, checkout, and troubleshooting).
