Maintenance Associate

For 80 years, Winston Flowers has been the premier boutique florist and garden retailer in the Boston. Today, our company has a worldwide online presence, two state-of-the-art design studios - 60,000 square feet in Boston and 12,000 square feet in New York - and retail shops throughout the Greater Boston area and Greenwich, Connecticut, including a two-acre garden center in Chestnut Hill. This position reports to the Operation Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Process and condition floral product and put in appropriate container for storage; organize, rotate and clean floral cooler on a consistent basis
• Ensure that work areas are clean and accessible; including, but not limited to, emptying trash barrels, sweeping, mopping, cleaning rest rooms and windows, checking and replacing light bulbs as needed
• Stock and organize shelves in work and storage areas; ensure vases and other hard goods are clean and in saleable condition and studio is fully stocked with packaging supplies
• Unload and unpack floral, plant and hard goods shipments
• Assist delivery team with client deliveries, weekly, event and party installations and/or transport product to Greenwich, CT retail location as needed
• Participate in other special projects as business needs require

Candidate Attributes

• Previous experience in floral processing is helpful, though not required
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• High level of self-motivation, coupled with the ability to take direction as needed
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is strongly preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Requirements

• Flexible work schedule required, including weekend availability
• Peak business periods and floral holidays will require extended work days and work weeks
