Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect to be based in Kansas City, MO. 

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management.  This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our Kansas City studio focuses on the Sports Venues, which encompasses everything from performance and development facilities to primary competition venues, ranging anywhere from small collegiate clients to the largest of professional leagues and franchises.  We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget. Some of our recent projects include Intuit Dome, the most technologically advanced sports arena ever designed, and Foster Pavilion, a transformative new arena that will bolster the landscape of the University of Baylor campus, and University of Central Florida football campus upgrades that will propel UCF into a new athletic conference.

Job Summary:

  • Coordinates a team effort to deliver various sized projects through diverse design and construction phases.
  • Communicates with the Project Manager on project workplan, deliverables and schedule.
  • Ensures communication between project management, project team, consultants and Client.
  • Promotes project delivery through architectural guidance and technically feasible solutions.
  • Fosters professional development and mentorship for emerging professionals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Architecture or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed Architect

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks and Dynamo
  • Proficiency with Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
  • Desire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staff
  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
  • Must be a highly motivated self- starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversight
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team- oriented work environment

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (Missouri locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $95,000- $125,000
