Senior Kafka Engineer

For our client in Bucharest, we are looking for a Senior Kafka Engineer.

What You’ll Do:

- Develop, enhance and maintain an asynchronous messaging system for seamless communication.

- Provide a superior SaaS messaging solution for use by other teams and projects.

- Offer support to other projects for message-processing and stream processing activities.

- Engage in the development and enhancement of message and stream processing components within a Kafka-based messaging platform.

- Manage and provide the messaging platform as a service to other application teams (onboarding).

- Collaborate with product/application teams to optimize and improve their legacy systems. Must be proactive with good stakeholder communication skills.

- Partake in on-call duties to provide timely resolution of issues.

- Implement unit tests to ensure the reliability and stability of the platform.

What You Have:

- At least 5 year of development experience.

- Practical and in-depth knowledge of Kafka.

- Java development background.

- Proficient in a diverse set of technologies including Azure, Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker, and Kafka (Strimzi and Confluent).

- Familiarity with Debezium, Maven, and Spring Boot.

- Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL (a plus).

- Work stack primarily around Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, Helm, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bash, ArgoCD, Docker, Kafka Strimzi.

- Usage of Github for code versioning and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.

- Comfortable working with Linux, log aggregation tools, and Elastic stack.

- Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for metrics monitoring.

- Usage of Opsgenie and ServiceNow for incident handling and IT Service Management.

- Experience with scripting language such as PowerShell, Bash, Python.
